Dogs seem to get a burst of energy when it snows…they are like kids in the snow!
Quite the jazzy little tune to listen to while you watch too!

Well, I just finished reading Marley and Me last night. I cried, and cried. I was so devastated at the end, even though I knew it was inevitable. The book reminded me of my lab Bailey in so many ways. I thoroughly enjoyed the book. John Grogan is such a humorous writer who has a way of explaining things as if you were sitting with him at a coffee shop as he told you stories about his life. If you have a hyper, mischievous yellow lab as I do, you HAVE to read this book! Does anyone know of any good books starring a chocolate lab?
Do you ever sit and watch your pet sleep? It is funny to watch our labs sleep. If you can get over the snoring and just watch, you’ll see all sorts of body movements. Bailey is especially active in his sleep. I wonder what he is dreaming about all the time. He’ll lay there and make little barking sounds and move his feet all over the place. If things get really active, the whole bed will start shaking and you’ll hear the big growling and barking sounds. I bet he is chasing a cat or running up to meet a new visitor at the house.
It’s a new year and a new day…and this one is pumping out some snow. The dogs love it! Our dog Bailey will stand out in the snow and eat until he starts shaking. He is a white lab with a thin coat of hair. Brandon, on the other hand, is a snow maniac. He doesn’t eat it like Bailey, but he will play in it non stop. With the big snowflakes on his chocolate fur he looks right at home.
My wife has been reading Marley and Me the past few days. She is fun to watch as she laughs out loud and tells me “This is Bailey! You need to read this.” Isn’t it funny how so many dogs are so alike, but so different. Take our two labs for example. Bailey is a wild and crazy yellow lab that want all the attention all the time. Brandon is a sweet chocolate lab that wants attention when he is ready….but when he is ready he REALLY wants attention. They both will play fetch until the rubber particles decompose (however long that really takes). They will both play so hard that they can’t walk right the next day.
